Ronald MacDonald makes a surprise visit!

On Monday Ronald MacDonald came to school to teach us about Road Safety.

We learnt how to be safe when walking to and from school. We also talked about how important it is to wear our seat belts when in the car.

We have been drawing ourselves and focusing on our facial features - where they sit on our faces and what they look like. We have also worked hard on our colours making sure we give ourselves the right colour eyes and hair.

Discovery Time is a ninety minute, action packed, activity based programme. Held once a week, it provides opportunities for teachers to meet the diverse needs of students through well planned, structured, ‘hands on’ experiences. Students get a chance to take control of their own learning. They are motivated and fully engaged. Best of all, it is fun!

Scooter Safety

Today we had our first Scooter Safety Lesson.

We had a great time. Remember to bring you scooters tomorrow and Wednesday also.

We learnt about the importance of having our helmets on correctly.

We practiced stopping and starting.

Most importantly we had lots of fun!

Room 3 Term 1 2014

Welcome to Room 3

Dear Parents,

Welcome back, I hope you have all had an enjoyable summer break. Room 3 is beginning the year with 13 students and I am very much looking forward to our time together.

From next week students will bring home their book bag every night with a book for them to read to you at night.  They will also have a small bag of high frequency words. These are for them to learn to identify. Please help them with both their reading and high frequency words at home each night as this will help them to succeed in the classroom. On Fridays they will also bring home their poem book and alphabet book to share and complete with you over the weekend.

We will be starting swimming at the Nayland Pool on Thursday the 13^th of February from 1.30pm - 3.00pm. There will be three swimming lessons – the following two will be the next two Thursdays (the 20^th and 27^th of February). Please make sure the children bring their togs on these days and have all their school uniformed labelled.

Room 3’s library day is Monday. Children will be able to issue one book each Monday as long as they return the book they have had out the week before.

Whole school assemblies will be every Friday from 2.30pm please feel free to come along to these assemblies.
