Term 4, Week 5

What an exiting week last week was, with Guy Fawkes, The Seasons show, AND the disco! A huge thanks to the hard working parents on the Home and School committee whose commitment makes these events possible for all of us. We were, however, very sorry to say goodbye to our fabulous Mr Neal, but we love the new book he bought for our library corner!

This is our final week of papier mache as we complete the top coat and begin to shape our masks. We’ll also be refining our jumping and throwing techniques in readiness for Athletics Day next week, and we look forward to a visit from the circus this Monday morning. We are also lucky to be having another visit this Friday from a local Nelson author who will be reading her story for us, “The Girl Who Loved to Sing”. Kapa haka and library will go ahead as usual – please note that Monday 2 December will be our last day at the library as all books need to be back in the library by Monday 9 December to allow for stock taking. Just 4 more weeks of new books – you might like to get a library card for Stoke library, if you haven’t already :)

Reminders:
- Blue mufti day this Thursday (14 November) for Diabetes New Zealand.
- Athletics Day is next Tuesday, 19 November - do come along to watch our sprints and field sports! Times to be confirmed.
- Have you considered joining the Home and School committee? If you are interested in socialising and/or supporting our families in 2013 and beyond, please let me know and I can put you in touch with other Room 3 committee parents, as well as with Natalie our chairperson :)
- The Home and School family picnic is coming up on the evening of Friday 29 November :)
